It is very important for family members to know how to manage an asthma attack. Here are some of the simple measures : Step 5: Know How to Manage an Asthma Attack
  • Stay calm.
  • Let your child sit down and lean forward.
    __This will make them feel more comfortable.
  • Use reliever as soon as possible.
  • Call your family doctor immediately.
  • If you have already worked out a management plan with
    __ your doctor, please follow the steps as discussed.

    Please go to the hospital emergency room or seek help from a doctor immediately if any of the following occur:
  • There is no improvement after administering the reliever
    __ and the asthma symptoms persist.
  • The child is unable to walk, talk, sleep or eat because of
    __ wheeze or cough.
  • Your child's lips turn purple-blue, which indicates
    __ decreasing oxygen level in blood
  • The child becomes unconscious.
  • Your child had a near-fatal asthma attack before.

    At school, the class master and physical education teacher should be aware of any child who has asthma. Doctors also recommend the following:
