          Step 3: Adequate Exercise
 
   
Asthmatic patient with poor asthma control or with "exercise-induced asthma" might experience an acute attack during or after exercise. However, exercise is actually beneficial to many children with asthma. Apart from taking preventive medications regularly to keep asthma under control, you should also discuss with your doctor which medications your child should take, if any, before exercise to reduce the chance of having an exercise-induced asthma.
